Stitching in Colour

Stitching In Colour is a creative and therapeutic group run by Pola Practice for Bla(c)k, First Nations, and People of Colour with the purpose of connecting like-minded folk with the restorative and rhythmic practice of stitching. This is a LGBTIQ+ friendly space🏳️‍🌈.

Used across cultures to mend, beautify, process, protect, protest, grieve, connect and indicate place and identity, stitching in its simple and intricate form has given voice to historical personal and collective events. We invite you to create in this space together.

Facilitator, Avrille Burrows (Mental Health Clinician and Arts Therapist) at Pola Practice engages in her own artistic practice alongside her clinical work and uses the act of stitching as a regulating and therapeutic outlet and means to express.
