Tom Hall (he/him) is an Australia born man of English and Australian heritage who was raised in Geelong, Victoria.  He has a great interest in welfare and social programs and how they practically work for people in British and Australian societies working in a London Remand Home in South Norwood, experimental child & family care in Camden, and a children’s residential facility in Islington. 

Tom’s passion is for advocacy of individuals and groups neglected and isolated within communities.  Tom’s interests and abilities are in person-centred care, work in court environments, risk assessment and management, outcome measures, case management, suicide prevention and mixed methods practice research activities.  Living in a multiracial family and returning to Australia in 1987 with his Gambian wife and two young boys provided an exciting opportunity and challenge for the whole family and combined the personal with professional development and experiences. 

Tom’s career has spanned child welfare and protection, family support, working with mentally disordered offenders, quality management and training new recruits to public mental health services in Victoria. Over the past eight years his career has focused on advocacy supporting homeless and people experiencing drug and alcohol issues and people wanting to make sense of their lives by healing past trauma and to create more options in their lives and move to a positive future
