Accredited Mental Health Social Worker

I am Rosa. I have worked in Private Practice as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker since 2007.

I graduated as a Social Worker in 2004. I commenced in Victims of Crime and then moved into Community Health, working in the Multicultural Duty and Counselling team.

I was born in Argentina, with Spanish and Italian heritage: those are also my languages. I, and my family, share a long history of migration. I came to Australia in 1973.

My work is focused on mental health, intersecting with trauma and family violence. Many of my clients come from culturally and/or linguistically diverse experiences. I use a range of theories and counselling interventions including Interpersonal, ACT and CBT. However, my work with people always starts with listening to each person to be sure that I hear why they are coming to counselling and what they want to achieve.
