Our Unique Offering
Pola Practice is a mental health and wellbeing service founded and led by two African women. Our team is made up of mental health practitioners, social scientists, and consultants specialising in culturally responsive and intersectional practice. We provide training, consultation, and evidence-based services to support organisations in creating projects, programs, and workplaces that are inclusive, safe, and sustainable. By bringing together clinical expertise and research insight we ensure that mental health and wellbeing strategies are not only effective but also deeply attuned to the cultural contexts of the communities they serve.
We work alongside organisations to embed cultural responsiveness at every stage of service design and delivery. Through workshops, tailored consultations, and project support, we help teams understand diverse lived experiences, address systemic barriers, and design services that truly resonate with end users. Pola Practice has partnered with Corporates, NGOs and community organisations across Australia and the South Pacific, combining practice-based knowledge with innovation to deliver impactful, inclusive, and future-focused solutions that strengthen both workforce wellbeing and community outcomes.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), burnout is a syndrome arising from chronic workplace stress that has not been effectively managed. It manifests through three dimensions: feelings of exhaustion or energy depletion, increased mental distance or negative attitude towards one's job, and reduced professional efficacy.
However, this understanding of burnout has limitations as it fails to consider the additional psychosocial and structural factors contributing to it. It also overlooks the specific risk factors for burnout faced by individuals with marginalized identities. However, Pola Practice’s burnout workshop looks at burnout from an intersectional perspective.
