Insiyaah Mesiwala

Counsellor

Insiyaah (she/her) is a counsellor who has worked in the mental health space since 2019. Raised in Mumbai, India, and living in Australia for over a decade, she brings a culturally responsive and trauma-informed approach shaped by both personal and professional experience. She has lived and worked across regional Victoria and Melbourne and currently practices on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, acknowledging their ongoing connection to land, culture, and community.

Insiyaah has experience working with individuals across the lifespan who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, migration- and workplace-related stress, and other challenges. She works with clients from diverse cultural, social, and historical backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQIA+ clients, people of colour, and those who have resettled from refugee or asylum-seeking backgrounds.

She takes a flexible, client-centred approach, adapting her therapeutic approaches to the needs of each individual she works with, and creating a space where clients feel respected, heard, and supported. Insiyaah works alongside clients to build understanding, strengthen resilience, and develop skills that support wellbeing beyond the therapy space.

Insiyaah tailors her approach using a combination of therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), alongside trauma-informed, person-centred, and culturally responsive approaches.
