What motivates me:
As a busy working parent with two children, Anthony has a special interest in building parents’ healthy family relationships and support networks. He has an interest in intersectional practice, masculinity, and healthcare accessibility. He has supported organisations, professionals, and programs to become more Father inclusive in their practice through delivering ‘Tuning in to Kids’ parenting education group programs to diverse communities, for organisations such as Melbourne City Mission, McKillop Family Services and Salvation Army funded programs.
Group Work Training & Research
He is a registered trainer with the University of Melbourne’s Mindful Centre in the ‘Tuning in to Kids’ model, ‘Tuning in to Teens’ model, and the ‘Dads Tuning in to Kids’ model. He is available to provide supervision to new facilitators to support the development of Father inclusive and Emotion Focused practice.
During 2014/2015 he played an integral role as a co-facilitator for the community randomised controlled trial (RCT) of Tuning in to Kids for Professionals with The Mindful Centre, Travancore, University of Melbourne (see Tuning in to Kids for Professionals | Home).
The trial aimed to deliver a parenting education program specifically targeting Fathers & their Children and refine the program to develop the current manualised ‘Dads Tuning in to Kids’ training program widely used today.
