Adham Hammoud

Registered Counsellor and Accredited Mental Health Social Work

Adham is a Registered Counsellor (Australian Counselling Association) and Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (Australian Association of Social Workers). He has over 13 years of experience in both health and mental health settings. Adham was born, raised and trained in Melbourne. He comes from a Lebanese Muslim background and is passionate about supporting clients from all walks of life. He has experience working with a wide range of issues, such as:

• Depression and other mood disorders

• Anxiety disorders

• Trauma

• Psychosis

• Stressful life/work/relationship/family/adjustment situations

• Drugs and alcohol

• Personality Disorders

• Eating Disorders

• Suicidal thoughts and self-harm

Adham uses various approaches in his work. He is very flexible and tailors his approach to suit his clients. His priority is to create a safe space where his clients can feel comfortable and able to trust the therapeutic process. Some approaches he uses include Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, all underlined within a strengths-based and person-centred approach.

Adham is a registered Medicare provider which means that clients can claim a Medicare rebate if they are referred with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from their General Practitioner (GP).
