Dallas Currie

Social Worker

Dallas (they/them) is a queer, non- binary, disabled therapist who grew up on Bunurong land and has benefited from significant time spent on Lenape land. As a white settler on stolen lands Dallas offers their deep respect and gratitude to traditional owners of the lands that sustain them and traditional owners globally.

During their 10 years living on Lanape Lands (New York City) Dallas received a Masters of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. Prior to this Dallas was a nanny for many years and deeply valued their relationships with the young people and families they worked with. This was a driving force to enhance their natural ability to connect with and support people.

Dallas spent the first four years of their career as a Primary Therapist at one of the United States premier eating disorder treatment facilities and most recently has specialized in family mental health. Dallas is skilled in delivering interventions to improve and stabilize mental health including; CBT, Cultural Relational Theory, the Unified Treatment for Eating Disorders and the Ackerman Relational Approach for families and couples.

Dallas is especially passionate about serving the LGBTQIA+, Neurodivergent, disabled and immigrant communities. They believe in holding space for the whole person in all their complexities, nuance and contradictions. Dallas is a straight talker who will meet you with compassion and always advocate you are kind to yourself and your body.
